Dick currently volunteers some of his valuable time with The Master’s Apprentice program for the benefit of our students, staff and volunteers. We are very lucky to have him involved.

Dick brings tons of teaching and coaching experience to our program as well as his academic  achievements of earning Master’s Degrees from Indiana University and Utah State University.

He was a teacher and coach at Denver Christian High School for 52 years, until he retired in 2012. Dick was the varsity boys basketball coach for 48 years in addition to coaching many other sports.

Dick is the winningest High School Basketball Coach in Colorado and holds many honors and awards including:

Colorado Sports Hall of Fame
National Federation of High Schools Hall of Fame
Distinguished Alumni of Calvin College in 2005
The Denver Christian Gymnasium – named the DICK KATTE ATHLETIC CENTER in 1998

In Dick’s spare time he also volunteers at Denver Christian tutoring students in math and works closely with Colorado High School Coaches Association as their liaison.

Dick enjoys 57 years of marriage to his wife Lorraine and cherishes his 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
