During our 6-week pre-apprenticeship program, you will take four classes, have hands-on learning experiences, and visit active construction sites with companies looking to hire. The Master’s Apprentice covers all your materials, from books to tools, at no cost to you.
Classes
Our classes equip you with the foundational skills to jumpstart your career. You’ll gain the tools to build a secure financial future, master the essential work ethics and values that employers seek, and develop the construction math skills critical to success in the industry.

Career Prep
- Learn how to craft a professional resume.
- Gain insights into what recruiters and managers are looking for.
- Develop and practice key interview skills.
- Master job search tools: researching companies, submitting applications, following up with hiring managers, tracking progress, and overcoming challenges.
- Receive personalized guidance as you navigate each step toward landing the job that starts your career.
Financial Literacy
- Learn the fundamentals and benefits of budgeting.
- Understand retirement benefits and medical insurance plans offered by employers.
- Prepare for major financial goals, such as home and vehicle ownership, and investing for your future.
The A-Game
- As a class, read and discuss “Bring Your A-Game to Work,” by Eric Chester.
- Key topics: Attitude, ambition, accountability.
- We connect the lessons from the book to real-life situations that will help you advance your career.
Math
- Topics: Addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions, and basic geometry.
- Volunteer coaches offer free, one-on-one tutoring for students needing extra support.
Hands-On Learning
The Master’s Apprentice understands that many of our students are hands-on learners who learn by doing. Our woodshop, labs, and field trips will give you valuable exposure to the construction trades, connect you with hiring companies, and offer the opportunity to earn certificates in your chosen track.

Woodshop
- Gain hands-on experience with power tools.
- Practice construction math skills using tape measures and foundation blueprints.
- See a project through from planning to completion.
Field Trips
- Visit hiring companies in the Colorado construction industry, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Gain exposure to specialized learning institutions such as Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain, Union Sheet Metal, Union Plumbing, HVAC, and Welding.
- Tour active construction sites to observe professionals in action. Experience the roles of apprentices and journeymen, and hear valuable insights from foremen, site managers, HR directors, owners and CEOs.
- Gain a true sense of what these careers are like through firsthand experience.
Labs
- Apply foundational skills to real-world projects and gain exposure to various trades.
- Practice real-life implementations of what you’re learning in your classes.
- MAP will provide you with opportunities to earn certifications from professional organizations.
